The service
voicedesktop offers free browser based tools for recording audio, testing microphones, transcribing audio and voice typing. The tools are provided free of charge and are supported by advertising. We may change, pause or remove any tool at any time.
Your content
You own the recordings you make and the transcripts you create. Because our recording and transcription tools run in your browser, we do not receive or store your content. You are responsible for saving copies of anything you want to keep.
Acceptable use
- Only record people with their knowledge and consent where the law requires it. Laws on recording conversations differ between countries and states.
- Do not use the tools to break any law or to infringe anyone's rights, including copyright and privacy.
- Do not try to disrupt, overload or attack the site, or copy it in bulk with automated tools.
Accuracy
Transcripts and voice typing are produced automatically by AI and speech recognition, and may contain mistakes. Always check important text, such as legal, medical or financial content, before you rely on it.
No warranty
The site and tools are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. We do not promise that they will always be available, error free or suitable for a particular purpose.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, voicedesktop is not liable for any loss of data, lost recordings, or indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the site. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Third party services
The site uses third party services such as Cloudflare for hosting, jsDelivr and Hugging Face for AI model files, your browser's speech service for voice typing, and, with your consent, Google Analytics and Google AdSense. Their own terms and policies apply to those services.
Changes
We may update these terms. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the new terms.
